Previous Students Reviews

Wow what an amazing time we had on our French Cake Break. Thanks to Rhu I learned so much, gained confidence in my sugar paste modelling skills and by the end of the week was proud of what I had produced. I seriously can't wait to go again and I have already booked for next year. The atmosphere at the Gite was home from home and couldn't have been a more relaxed environment. Rhu is so encouraging and has the most amazing skills of passing on her knowledge and expertise. For anyone wanting to learn as a beginner or wanting to build on their skills there is only one place to go - Rhu at French Cake Breaks.

WOW!!! What an incredible week on the French Cake break. From the lovely Simon who picked us up from the airport and kept us entertained with his local french knowledge of how things work in France, i.e.: can we drink the water etc. To a quick stop at the supermarket. Once we arrived it was like home from home. Claire and Simon sharing their home and making us so welcome and OMG! Claire s cooking is to die for. So much so i have turned Veggie! Hows that cookery book coming Claire? Rhu. What can i say. Patients of a saint whilst staying up all hours with us. sharing her knowledge and learning together. Nothing was a problem and no fixed lessons time. It was worth every penny and more.I have been home 1 week and have booked for next year and cant wait. :-))))

Cake Age

I attended Level 2 Cake Break in May 2016. Everything is well organised from the airport pickup to the accomodation, which was very comfortable. The vegetarian food served was plentiful and extremely tasty. The course was well structured and Rhu was a very professional, relaxed and extremely patient teacher. She takes you through the complexities of armature and modelling from start to finish, continually giving constructive help and guidance for improvement where necessary. Despite having so much to learn in such a short time, the whole experience was still tremendous fun and I would whole heartedly recommend the Cake Break, which ever level. I am planning to do level 3 next year and eagerly await the release of next years dates so I can organise a booking.

French cake break
I had the pleasure of being part of the French Cake Break and can not recommend this high enough. I went on my own and came away with new friends and greater skills. I learnt more than what was on the itinerary and can honestly say this was the best learning I have experienced . The accommodation is like a home from home I felt very comfortable there. The food was delicious. As a meat eater I was dubious about the food as it was vegetarian but it was delicious and so much that you will not go hungry. I loved it so much that I am booking next year's course right now. Go and experience it you won't regret it.
